In our previous posts, we took the opportunity to explain how Living Family History helps you interact with your family — whether they are near or far away from you! Our platform allows you to connect with privacy (unlike most social media platforms). There are many other ways in which LFH helps you grow closer to your family, many of which go well beyond simply preserving photographs! Recording Your Family History: The Benefits Of LFH

The benefits of Living Family History are many. We’ve created a totally unique site that is home to a community of folks who feel confident in the privacy and safety of their ability to meet and connect. Whether you want to simply store and track your family’s digital scrapbook or your vision includes your entire family keeping in touch through a private platform, LFH is worth your consideration.

Security

It’s no secret that the digital age of information has coincided with a significant loss in personal security. “Identity theft” is an idea that only begins to scratch the surface of all that can go wrong when giving your personal information to the wrong website. Come to think of it, folks get their data hacked all the time without having done anything wrong — it’s often uncontrollable!

But here is something you can control: choosing LFH means you can have peace of mind about your personal security. We do not data mine any information you share within the site, and we aren’t in the business of selling your personal information (which is not something we can say about many a social media platform!).

Privacy

Hand-in-hand with security is privacy. We take the privacy of our members as seriously as we do their security. Here’s how:

• We provide a private messaging system in our network.
• We offer “Private” and “Friends Only” viewing options, meaning you control who is able to see whatever you post.
• If you so choose, you can even meet other LFH members (from different families) in a safe and secure setting.

Essentially, LFH is the same as having your own personal and private social media platform! We’ve designed our platform to be a place where you can safely share videos, images, audio files, and even documents.

Control

We’ve already touched on how much control you get when using our digital scrapbooking platform, but there is more to it than you might think. We’ve designed it so that your private digital home is set up however you would like. LFH is accessed by invite only, meaning you can invite and, if you’d like, later remove any user who is a part of that home. We also offer a robust control system, complete with viewing options; designate certain images or files that you post as “Private” or “Friends Only.” It’s up to you!

This final point bears repeating: we allow stewardship of your digital home so that it can be passed from generation to generation! Maybe your grandkids could be sharing pictures of you and your parents to their grandchildren one day! It’s a nice thought.

Living Family History was founded because Bryan experienced a tremendous loss after the passing of his mother. With her passing the ‘Value’ that she added would leave as well! We want everyone to be able to easily answer the question “what was he/she like?”. It’s about preserving their history through the storage of photos, documents, audio recordings, and videos.
